Job Description:

Providing daily living assistance for individuals with disabilities or illnesses within their homes.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following four qualification criteria:

Qualification 1: The care recipient must undergo a professional assessment at a medical institution designated by the Ministry of Labor for employing foreign home caregivers. The assessment, commonly based on the Barthel Index, must meet one of the following conditions:

  1. Care recipient is under 80 years old and requires full-time care (Barthel Index score below 35).
  2. Care recipient is 80 to 84 years old and requires substantial or full-time care (Barthel Index score of 60 or below).
  3. Care recipient is 85 years old or older and requires at least mild care assistance (Barthel Index shows at least one disability, such as a score of 95).

Qualification 2: The care recipient must hold a disability certificate issued by local government social welfare authorities and meet one of the following specific disability conditions and severity levels, or meet the Ministry of Labor’s officially recognized disability classifications.

Qualification 3: The care recipient must be a recipient of long-term care services from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and have continuously used home care, day care, or family foster care services for more than six months.

Qualification 4: The care recipient must have a dementia diagnosis certificate issued by a neurologist or psychiatrist, with a Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) of at least 1.

Required Documents for Applying for a Foreign Home Caregiver:

  1. Copy of the applicant's National ID card and household registration.
  2. Copy of the care recipient's National ID card and household registration.
  3. Copy of the care recipient's medical diagnosis and disability certificate or a severe disability certificate.

Domestic Helper

Job Description:

Performing household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, caring for family members, and other domestic services.

Eligibility Requirements:

The household must meet one of the following conditions:

  1. Having three or more children under the age of six.
  2. Having four or more children under the age of 12, with at least two of them under six.
  3. Accumulating at least 16 points based on the following family member calculation table. Each household may employ only one domestic helper.

Note 1: Each household is limited to hiring only one foreign domestic helper.

Note 2: Individuals not counted include those from different household registrations, households that have already hired a foreign home caregiver or an intermediate-skilled home caregiver, and those who have already been approved to employ a domestic helper.

Required Documents for Applying for a Foreign Domestic Helper:

  1. Copy of the applicant’s and relevant family members’ household registration (must be from the same household).
  2. Copy of the applicant’s National ID card.

  3. Accidental Insurance Coverage: At least NT$300,000.
  4. Employer’s Insurance Cost: Based on actual charges by the insurance company.
