Institutional Caregivers

Job DescriptionProviding daily life care and related services to residents with physical or mental disabilities, psychiatric patients, or those with dementia in the following institutions or hospitals.

Employer EligibilityEmployers must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Long-term care institutions, nursing homes, senior care facilities, or social welfare foundations that accommodate and care for individuals with moderate or severe disabilities, psychiatric patients, or dementia patients:
    • Can hire one migrant caregiver per three legally registered beds.
    • The number of migrant workers cannot exceed the total number of local caregivers and nurses.
  • Nursing homes, chronic disease hospitals, general hospitals with chronic disease wards or respiratory care beds, specialized hospitals:
    • Can hire one migrant caregiver per five legally registered beds.
    • The number of migrant workers cannot exceed the total number of local caregivers and nurses.
    • In hospitals, the number of migrant workers must not exceed the number of local caregivers. (Nurses are not counted for hospital applications.)
  • Residential long-term care facilities established under the Long-Term Care Services Act:
    • Can hire one migrant caregiver per five legally registered beds.
    • The number of migrant workers cannot exceed the total number of local caregivers and nurses.
  • The calculation of local caregivers is based on the number of workers enrolled in labor insurance on the date of the recruitment application.

Excluding overtime pay.
Note: The employer is responsible for the return airfare of the migrant worker upon contract completion, as per the labor contract.
